The ACT is the Royal Veterinary College’s registered charity. We purchase vital equipment for the College’s hospitals, provide assistance to the College’s research teams who pioneer new treatments and support the College’s commitment to excellence in veterinary education.

Story

Hey Folks, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I have chosen to raise funds for the Animal Care Trust, which is the registered charity for the Royal Veterinary College. The ACT recognised that there was a need for a specialist veterinary clinical hospital which could handle complex cases. So the QMHA was opened in 1986 and remains the UK's most important referral hospital.

The ACT purchases vital, up-to-date equipment for the RVC's hospitals which include the QMHA, the Beaumont and the Equine Referral Hospital, provides assistance to the colleges research teams in their endeavors to pioneer new animal treatments and cures.

Fortunately the ACT is not all research based, one of their recent projects includes The Care Farm Project, which aims to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged and disabled individuals.

You can have a wee looksies at their work here: http://www.rvc.ac.uk/act

So, if you are an animal lover, have had your animals treated at one of the RVC's hospitals or you would just like to support the ACT, please donate now. Your donation will help to ensure that the RVC's hospitals remain at the forefront of international veterinary medicine and continue to offer the specialist, world-class care they provide to the thousands of sick and injured animals that are treated each year.

Alternatively, if animals are not top of your charity agenda, not to worry. Every penny donated will help push me closer to that finish line!!

So dig deep!!
