This event has been our incentive to start running this year.  A good friend of ours works for Aberdeen Cyrenians and is 100% dedicated to helping people affected by issues around homelessness, sustance misuse and violence towards women.  She is an absolute star who gives her heart and soul to her job.  We are very aware of the stream of cuts in funding that have negatively affcetd the charity's ability to provide the services desperately needed in our local area.  Hopefully the money raised by the Baker Hughes run will go a small way to help the charity strive on to continue its invaluable work.  More information about the chairty can be found at:  www.aberdeen-cyrenians.org

I know there's lots of sponsored stuff on the go at the moment but this is a local charity where every penny goes back to supporting our local, vulnerable population - young people leaving care, people made homelesss for whatever reason, women experiencing violence against them, people affected by human trafficing (YES - in Aberdeen city and shire) and people with problems related to drug and alcohol abuse.  Every penny counts so if you can make a donation, please think about making one here and supporting our run on the 19th May.
