Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’d love to raise some money for CLAPA (cleft lip and palate association) who delivered special bottles to Eva the day she was born, so I could feed her. With a cleft lip and palate, the babies can’t suck normally, so the special bottle allows you to squirt the milk in. The norm for us after a few days, but without the bottle I don’t even know what the alternative would have been. Luckily we didn’t have to find out.
We’ve found out that due to Covid19 they’re worried about how long as a charity they can continue to provide this service. The thought of this, along with all the other support they give, including a self esteem day Eva went to only last year, is something I just can’t imagine.
My idea is to run a joint marathon.........
So each person runs 5k and donates a pound per k (if you can rope your family members in, please don’t feel to need to do that for each person. Per family is great! The money is only a guide x)
To make it more fun we all start at the same time. So meet on Zoom to start and then back on Zoom at the end (whatever time you finish) with a cold beer! To ensure the beer happens 😜 and to include a USA contingency, I’ve chosen Sunday 19th April at 4.30pm. I’m deliberately inviting people from different places rather than direct neighbours so social gathering is not an issue. You can walk or run, kids and especially dogs welcome!
