I currently work at Blackpool Victoria Hospital as one of the ENT doctors, helping to look after and operate on patients with head and neck cancers.

The Swallows is our local head and neck cancer charity and they fundraise for and provide support to patients dealing with these difficult conditions.

As well as providing support, the fundraising that the charity undertakes is invaluable. A lot of our patients have difficulties swallowing and speaking due to the treatments they receive. The recent Swallows fundraising efforts have provided "boogie boards"  to Ward 14 to help patients following laryngectomy and tracheostomy surgery be able to communicate during their stay.

I am in no way a natural runner but wanted to take part in fundraising for this local charity that helps support the patients that I look after. I have managed to encourage my Brother to also run and we hope to raise lots of money for this excellent cause.
