Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

The Crohns in Childood Reasearch Association (CICRA) aims to find a cure for inflammatory bowel disease (including Colitis)  for which there is still no known cure. They aim to improve the quality of life for young sufferers and their families and give every child who suffers from this debilitating condition the opportunity to be treated by a specialist.

I have several family members and friends who have been diagnosed with the condition and know first hand how difficult it can make life. It does not discriminate and the effects on sufferers and their families can be devastating.

The challenge is a tough one, covering 24 peaks in 24 hours (all over 2400ft) in the Lake District. It requires a great deal of fitness and those of you who know me know that fitness is not my forte! I have given up my 20 a day smoking habit (97 days now!) and have even put in place a proper training plan to ensure I can do this.

I am paying for the trek myself to ensure that every penny I raise goes to this very worthy charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Every penny counts and will help motivate me to keep moving on the more gruelling training treks!

I really appreciate every donation, and I know CICRA will too. Thanks so much.
