Story

Danny was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis, a rare form of cancer in March 2019 at just 22 months old. Biopsies, scans, operations, hospital stays and chemotherapy became our new normal, our world was turned upside down. After 2 years of treatment Danny rang the bell and was set to start enjoying his life without chemotherapy.

Unfortunately Danny’s disease reactivated within weeks and he was scheduled for surgery to have a lesion removed from his skull and a new port-a-cath inserted into his chest. A new treatment plan was set up, resulting in another 2 years of chemotherapy. This was another devastating period for our family. Our boy had been suffering from birth and any plans we had for the future were put back on hold. We are so thankful to be half way through this plan. Danny has responded well to treatment and is back on maintenance chemotherapy.

My husband and I, along with many friends have decided to complete the Mourne Moutains 7 Summits Challange to raise funds for Cancer Fund For Children. The tough challenge involves climbing to the summit of all seven peaks in the Mourne Mountains which are 700m or more above sea level. Estimating between 12-14 hours to complete.

Cancer Fund For Children offers essential support and respite to children and adults going through treatment. We as a family have benefited greatly from these services and made great memories at their Daisy Lodge facility. We are very grateful that Danny is doing well and we are in a position to help the charity.

We would love for you guys to get behind us and support us if possible, it would mean the world to us 💙
