Stonehenge to Avebury Trek · 6 September 2014

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We completed the Stonehenge to Avebury trek on Saturday 6th September, and didn't want to ask people to donate until we'd actually completed it. My nan suffers from dementia, and she is one of the 800,000 people that suffer in the UK. It's a horrible disease, and describes a set of symptoms including memory loss, mood changes, and problems with communicating and reasoning.

Dementia is not part of growing old. It is caused by diseases of the brain, the most common being Alzheimer's.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
