Too often these days I'm finding my self surrounded by those suffering with cancer. It is clear that no one is safe from this disease. At school, amongst my peer group, I can count beyond my 10 fingers the number of close friends and acquaintances I see daily, who either have cancer or are currently recovering from their battle with it. Sadly I can also add to this number those that have lost their lives to this awful disease. Whether it be melanoma, breast cancer, bowel cancer, bone cancers... But the stories don't stop with my adult friends. Children and grandchildren of friends are suffering too... Lymphomas, brain tumours... It has to stop!

I feel helpless. There is no end to the number of meals I can offer to make, and offers of support I can give. But none of these will obliterate this disease. That is why I'm asking for your support in donating to my cancer research charity. By shaving my head I'm hoping you will  be generous with your donations and together we will be one step closer to making this awful disease a disease of the past.

I plan to shave my head at 9.30 on Monday June 16th at a morning tea at my house. You are all welcome to come.. and those that want to play a part in actually shaving my head can make an extra donation to cancer research.
