Greggs - The Great Bakery Bike Ride · 17 June 2010 ·

A grant-making charity which improves the quality of life in local communities Over the last 30 years, the Greggs Foundation has awarded more than £20 million. This money goes to support people around us who need it most, and to raise the quality of life for everyone in our local communities.

Story

The Great Bakery Bike Ride, in aid of the Greggs Foundation and BBC Children in Need Appeal

Between June 17 and June 27 2010, the Greggs operating board is taking on a mammoth challenge, to cycle between each of the Greggs bakeries, a gruelling total of 900 miles. Each member of the operating board will take part in at least one stage of the course to raise money for the Greggs Foundation Breakfast Club Scheme and BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Nigel Oldham

My challenge is to find my old bike and get fit enough to join in and do part of the route.

You may have heard that my daughter Nicola ran 26 miles in the London Marathon in April this year, so my target is to do double that on my bike.  I do hope that you will be able to sponsor me for my challenge (not bad for someone twice her age).

My target is to raise £2,000 from family, friends, and acquaintances, and to cover at least 52 miles of the route and help raise monies for two very worthy causes – Children In Need and the Greggs Breakfast Clubs.
