On the fifth of September I will leave Land's End and over nine days cycle 960 miles to John O'Groats. 

My daughter Amie contracted an unknown virus in December 2010 at the age of 9. Unfortunately this damaged her nervous system causing Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, M.E. This illness has no cure and has numerous symptoms including a debilitating constant fatigue from which there is no relief, every morning if she has managed to sleep she still wakes up un-refreshed.

Before Amie led a very full and busy life, now she watches the world go by from the sofa. She has had to give up school and has lost all her friends as she is not able to keep up or interact.

AYME has been a life line for her, through the online forums she has made new friends who she is able to chat to online. These are other children from all over the country who also suffer from M.E.

AYME provides children with M.E. and their families support in many areas including education, medical, emotional and legal.

They have been brilliant for Amie, Lisa and I. Please support this small but crucial charity.
