Night at the West End · 16 August 2020

This theatre has been entertaining people for almost 200 years. It is rooted in the present as a major contributor to Suffolk's cultural landscape and a wonderful resource for the community. Help us ensure its future, the generosity of those who love the arts and heritage is vital. Thank you.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Theatre Royal is currently closed and because of this almost all of their income has ceased. They receive crucial public authority funding, but this makes up a small percentage of what they need to survive. the Theatre are very fortunate to have ongoing and loyal support from Patrons, Friends, Major Donors and Corporate Sponsors – without whom (even in normal times) they simply could not survive – as a charity this support is vital to their survival.

For 200 years Theatre Royal has brought significant money into our local economy. This Theatre brings joy to the town of Bury St Edmunds by bringing you the best live theatre, telling stories that inspire and welcoming big names in the world of theatre, television and film to our stage. They aim to inspire young people, to give local people a voice, to serve our community and to reach out to our marginalised groups for whom theatre and the arts may otherwise be inaccessible, and to help and support our brilliant family of freelancers (writers, producers, set designers, technicians, actors to name a few) to create new work.

By donating you will be helping Theatre Royal to remain robust and ready for reopening when the time is right.
