Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We have set up this Page as many of our family and friends are doing things to raise money and awareness of Williams Syndrome. Our beautiful Miss Drew was diagnosed this year with the extremely rare condition that affects only 1 in 20,000 people in the U.K.

As well as the medical implications of Williams Syndrome there are also a lot of learning difficulties that go with it. Only 1 in 30 GP's will ever even meet someone with WS so our aim is to try and raise as much awareness as possible  of her condition, hence giving her the best chance at life. The more people who know about it, the more they will understand her condition.

And we thought what better way to raise awareness than to get all our family and friends to raise money in her name for the Williams Syndrome Foundation who are currently our only means of support or guidance. The people who work in the Charity all have a family member with WS and they go out of their ways to make sure Miss Drew has all the help she needs.

Thank you for reading our story and if you can spare even £1 it will all help x x

About the charity

The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.
