Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On March 12th last year, my brother Sean (Harding), a Tree Surgeon & country man, had a very bad accident involving a beech tree whilst working. This resulted in a broken back, fractured neck, broken ribs & a punctured lung.  He now faces a life paralysed from the waist down with all the complications and challenges that brings. Currently undergoing extensive rehab and physiotherapy Sean will do everything in his power to be back out amongst his beloved trees as soon as humanly possible. Sean has a tremendous affinity for wildlife and the environment and is an accomplished photographer. He was hurt doing what he loved.

Aspire provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by spinal cord injury, supporting them from injury to independence, assisting Sean with things like adapted accommodation to help with the transition from hospital to home, continuing his rehabilitation. Sean has already shown huge amounts of determination and continues his journey to get as strong as he can in order to get back out there and live his life.

I am all to aware that many families have their own difficulties to face whether that be personally or financially. However, if you feel you can donate a little, we can make a big difference to people living with spinal injury.

I appreciate your time & support. Be safe and live each & every day.
