Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year my Dad and I will be running the London Marathon. Now this time 6 months ago I HATED running so this is a huge achievement for me! And well the old man is now approaching 57 so it is another big achievement for him too!
I have decided to run for bowel cancer to really raise awareness of the disease. Someone dies from bowel cancer every 30 minutes which is awful as it is preventable, curable and treatable. A few years ago my Dad was brave enough to go to the doctors after noticing a few changes. The doctors worked quickly to remove the lumps from Dad's bowel before they progressed into anything life threatening. Im able to run the marathon with my Dad because he noticed the symptons, and got treated quickly. Other peoples stories can be the same if they know what to look out for!
- Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo
- A change in bowel habit lasting for 3 weeks or more especially to looser or runny poo
- Unexplained weight loss
- Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason
- A pain or lump in your tummy
