Women survive in the most inhospitable places. This trek was at first a call to adventure but has evolved to an understanding of ways that local non-government agencies ( NGOs ) are supporting the livelihood of women in the face of high risk and uncertainty of climate assaults…floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, extreme heat. My trip is self funded and I’m sure will transform me.  But beyond my “consumption good”, this is an investment to build climate resilience services and infrastructure for women. Your donation will go directly to UN Women Sri Lanka, to further their   programs supporting women in crisis and building resiliency.  As a researcher/ advocate, I am thrilled that the funds raised will also be invested  in collecting much needed data on climate change and its impact on Sri Lankan women. I’m impressed by their risk assessment, evidence-based approach in developing programs and advocacy.
