Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Nish, I'm 19 and live in Bournemouth!

Young people in the UK get a bad press and only seem to be in the media when they mess things up.  But there is no point complaining about something that you are doing nothing to change, so this is my small contribution.

I decided to challenge myself and do something that really scares me, whilst raising plenty of cash for charity..

Every year more than a quarter of a million Mums, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, Sisters Brothers etc are diagnosed with cancer in the UK, and 1 in 3 people will develop cancer during their lifetime.  So..Cancer is something that affects us all at some point.

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care.

Taking all of this into consideration Macmillan seemed like the obvious choice of charity to support, and I hope that with your support I can raise the money to make a real difference.

My Challenge..

I will be flown to around 13thousand feet, before hurling my carcass out of the door of the aircraft accompanied by (but not attached to) two Army Parachute Association instructors.. I will then plummet in freefall towards the ground at 200 Feet per second (120mph) for around 45 seconds (7000ft) at which point I will deploy my own parachute and fly myself into the landing zone, hopefully landing on two feet...

However.. Lots of people do a jump either attached to, or at least with instructors..

I wanted my challenge to be a bit different, so I will be attempting to complete an accelerated freefall course in a weekend!  That means a day of ground school, followed by a total of 8 jumps.. One of them with NO instructor.. I will have this jump filmed as evidence of my adventure, and upload it to youtube so that my sponsors can see just how scary this is going to be! :p

To make things that little more interesting, this is the first time I have ever stepped into a plane. After this challenge I will have flown 8 times.. But still never landed in an aeroplane, jumping out at 13000ft instead.

Please give as much or as little as you can.. But please do give :)
