Story
Hi Guys!
So I have decided to take on the Great North Run this September in Newcastle (Eek!). It is one of the largest half marathons in the world, at a distance of 13.1 miles.
Why have I chosen this charity?
A member of my family was affected with renal cancer in 2015. A year later he lost his battle to cancer. My uncle was an energetic, sport enthusiast and has now become my driving force. Losing someone so special was devastating, so I can only imagine what family and friends must feel having to watch a young child fight cancer. Remember funds can go into research, treatment and support for these children suffering from this debilitating disease.
Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. That’s ten every day. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. They fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer and work to protect young lives through essential welfare programmes.
