Story

Maisie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on 9th November 2017. She had her final intravenous chemotherapy treatment on 10th March 2020. The 853 days from diagnosis to last chemo were, at times, very tough for Maisie, but she is lucky to have been in the care of some wonderful health professionals in both Malaysia and Portugal. She is now healthy and loving life!

We would like to celebrate this milestone by raising money to support children with cancer who are not lucky enough to have the same care that Maisie did. As a family, we are aiming to cover 853Km (1Km for every day of treatment), on foot or bike, between 9th November 2020 and 10th March 2021. You can support us by donating below.

World Child Cancer works to help children with cancer in developing countries – in the UK over 80% of children now survive cancer – in developing countries that can be as low as 10% - but it does not need to be like that. World Child Cancer aims to improve diagnosis, treatment and support for children with cancer, and their families, in the developing world.

In low- and middle-income countries fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer are diagnosed, treated or given pain relief. World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics hospitals and parent support groups
