Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Norwich Swan Swimmers are walking, cycling and running to raise money to support the vital work that MAP are doing for young people in the Norwich and surrounding area.  We hope that getting into the fresh air and walking, running or cycling will also benefit our swimmers well-being whilst supporting this local charity at the same time. We aim to cover 2021 miles during February as part of our Challenge 2021 project.

MAP offers young people a range of free, confidential services including
• counselling and therapeutic services
• youth work, informal education and positive activities
• independent advice on housing, money, education, employment, health, relationships, welfare rights and responsibilities

Norwich Swan Swimming Club was founded in 1880 and run Learn to Swim lessons and Competitive Swimming Squad sessions in the Norwich and surrounding areas. While our pools are closed we wanted to take this time to help others and to stay healthy and fit.

As a club we recognise the challenges this period of time will place on our swimmers and their peers, specifically on their mental health, and want to draw attention to the support that is available for people of their age.
