Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

The idea of cycling across the USA came to me while completing a similar bike trip I undertook from Scotland to Denmark. On this current trip I aim to challenge myself further, get my self out there and explore the world.

After further research and talking with friends and family, I got the advice to look into fundraisers, the obvious choice for me was Alzheimer Scotland. After seeing my own family going through the pain of Alzheimers I thought that I might be able to do what little I can to help others and to bring awareness to Alzheimer.

I want to bring together my interest in cycling and my personal history with Alzheimers, this trip will be the culmination of these to parts of my life.

About me:

I am an art student from Glasgow School of Art and I have a passion for cycling. It is mainly for my personal development, I believe that by doing this I learn to know my self better, and make me stronger for what is to come later on in life both physically and mentally. And as I have previously mentioned, I want to bring this interest into helping out in any way I can.
