On the 16th September, I was in a car accident. I was taken into hospital that night and I was there for just over 5 weeks. This accident involved me having a below knee amputation on my right leg. I also lost my dog. I got better really quickly in a short amount of weeks but they kept me in for a little bit longer just to keep me safe from any infections. My friends at school welcomed me back and treated me like before. They all took care of me and never left me alone. Now, I have fully recovered and I have a prosthetic leg, a blade and a leg with a moving ankle. The teachers have all supported me as well. They have allowed class 6 to go back to Stanley head for a day in the summer, henceforth I missed the week trip. All of my friends have helped me. Some came to the hospital and others couldn’t face seeing me in so much pain. They all sent me presents like a prayer chain and a big card. I will always miss this class when we go off to different high schools, even though, I will stay in touch with some of my closest friends. I feel really grateful that the teachers have decided to run this half marathon for me so that the money will go to a good use with my future leg problems. I am really happy to know how much I mean to this school. This school means a lot to me.
