BUPA Great North Run 2007 · 30 September 2007 ·

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

After completing a few 10k runs, I've decided to go to the next stage and do the Great North Run this year in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young. CRY works to raise awareness of the risks of Sudden Death Syndrome in young people - this is especially important to me as a friend sadly passed away a couple of years ago from this condition.

So I'll be joining 50,000 people to run/jog/walk (depending on how my training goes) my way from Newcastle to Gateshead on September 30th 2007. I've set a target of £350, but hopefully through your generosity I'll be able to beat this and raise some more. Please give as much or as little as you like - but obviously the more the merrier!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cardiac Risk in the Young will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
