Story

It's done!

Welcome back to my final update. What a weekend - two long 24k plus days with a very wet and very, very, windy overnight camp! We finished on day 2 in the dark having missed the last 2 control points however the general feeling was that we'd done the miles so the final position was irrelevant! It was a good running course, only some dodgy navigation prevented us posting a better result. The picture is of me and Mike (he's the one on the right) at the Day 2 start line.

Many thans once again to everyone who sponsored me this year. By the time I collect all the money in I should be well above £500.

Race week update!

Well it's almost time to head up north. Everything is packed and just one last training session before the weekend. Still injury free but trying to shrug off a persistant little cough - the legs are fine but the lungs are struggling!

A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me todate - in addition to the online donations I have a lot of sponsorship on the good old paper forms! It would be great to beat the target before I go - a real motivator - so if you would like to sponsor me now is the time to do it!

Many thanks and I'll let you know how I get on.

Well it's that time of the year again, I'm well into my training schedule increasing the miles and starting to wear the rucsac to get used to the weight!

This year's event is taking place in the Lowther Hills of Southern Scotland on the 27th & 28th October. If you would like more info please visit the OMM website: www.theomm.com This is the 40th anniversary event so I'm hoping for both a good race and to raise lots of money for my chosen Charity, The Dame Vera Lynn Trust.

I have chosen this Charity as it supports the son of a friend at work. Xavier (or Xavi for short) was diagnosed with cerebal palsy and multi-sensory impairment (blind deaf issues) at 8 days old and without the Dame Vera Lynn Trust would not have achieved the fantastic milestones he has. Now at the age of 3 & 1/2, Xavi is able to finger feed, walk very small distances and use limited sign language - none of which, his parents believe, would have happened without the help of the skilled professionals who work for the Charity.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Dame Vera Lynn Trust For Children With Cerebral Palsy will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
