Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team (CBMRT) is an entirely voluntary organisation, which helps those in need. CBMRT do not only deliver mountain search and rescue support they also provide a wide range of other services the general public may be less aware of. This includes: both rural and urban search and rescue of vulnerable people and animals; adverse weather condition support helping emergency service personnel get to a from work in poor weather conditions; water response in cases such as flooding; educational training to help communities prepare for the outdoors - such as school visits; and much much more.

Sadly, just over a year ago, a major fire devastated CBMRT's base, destroying all their vehicles and equipment and caused major damage to the building itself. But it didn’t destroy the team or their commitment to help and serve their community. Within days CBMRT were responding to a call for help and, since the fire, they’ve undertaken hundreds of incidents, providing help and support where needed.  Even though CBMRT have been able to purchase new vehicles and equipment from the amazing support of the public .  They still have not recovered from the fire as they've not been able to go back into their rescue base.  CBMRT have now decided to take the biggest step in the history of Central Beacons and to build a new rescue base fit for the 21stcentury and that will meet the needs for the future.  To do this they need your help.

The support from the community and other mountain rescue teams around Wales and England has been humbling and has helped CBMRT immensely but there is still a long way to go.

Between 17:00 on 20/06/2019 and 17:00 on 21/06/2019, members of Obstafit fitness bootcamp will be taking on the three national British peaks, namely Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales in 24 hours (including travel time between each of the peaks) to raise money to support CBMRT and their worthy cause.

We and CBMRT would really appreciate any donations you can offer in helping our cause.

Thank you
