Oliver Alexandre, Oliver Raishbrook and Findlay Maule Climb Kilimanjaro for Prostate Cancer

Climbing Kilimanjaro · 4 August 2019
Hello! We are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in the summer in an effort to raise money for prostate cancer UK. It is located in the northern region of Tanzania and is the tallest single standing mountain in the world, meaning that it is not part of a mountain range, and the tallest point in Africa at 5,895 meters.
Our Climb will begin on the 2nd of August and will last a total of ten days. We have chosen to climb Kilimanjaro as it helps us to reflect on the problems with those who suffer with prostate cancer. Often fighting a battle with prostate cancer can be a lonely one and can seem like a mountain to overcome. No one should ever be left to climb this mountain alone, much like us climbing Kilimajaro we are doing it together. So to end this, we are looking to raise awareness for prostate cancer which still remains under the radar in so many cases. By being more open about mens’ health we can save lives, the earlier prostate cancer is diagnosed the more likely the person is to win the battle. So a quick check at your local GP is the key and the beginning to save a life. All of the money that we raise will go towards finding a cure and saving those lives of whom we love in the future.
