My mother & I will be running Llanelli half in the hope of raising some funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young. 

This is a charity that has become close to my family & I following a personal health scare. 

In July 2017 following a cricket game I experienced some severe pain in my chest and was taken to A&E from the ground. Upon arriving at A&E I was rushed into the resuscitation ward as my heart rate was extremely high, at over 230bpm. I was treated by some wonderful nurses and doctors & monitored closely for some time. After a number of visits to numerous doctors and hospitals, I was diagnosed with supraventricular tachycardias. 

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to have undergone a successful cardiac ablation & have been given the green light from the doctors with a very slim chance of something like this happening again. 

Cardiac Risk in the Young help prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.
