Macmillan Caring Locally works in partnership with the NHS to fund the Macmillan Unit, a Hospice and specialist palliative care unit at Christchurch Hospital in Dorset. Please note that we are not connected in any way to the national charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Story

My father, having battled Prostate cancer, secondary bone cancer and Parkinson's for many years was taken in by Macmillan Caring Locally for support and care. They did absolutely everything in their power to help make his final months in paliative care as comfortable and enjoyable as they could and I am forever indebted to them for the support that was provided. After his passing, Macmillan then turned to me and my family to offer help, support and bereavement councelling.

No job was too big and nothing was every too much trouble for the unit and the staff and they are a total credit to the charity.

Macmillan Caring Locally receive very little charity funding and therefore rely so heavily on charitiable donations and gifts to keep them operating and offering their amazing services.
