We are the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals. We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Donations fund life-saving equipment, treatments, research and home comforts. Whatever will make the biggest impact to the people who need it most.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since 6 months old I have always been in and out of hospital with many medical problems. During this time I have been on plenty of different wards but there is one ward in particular I have felt has always been there for me... Ward L42 (was 48/48A) in the LGI. On this ward I found a second home due to many health scares and organised surgery. On L42 the staff know me as if I am famous! Everytime I register at the desk a nurse will often say "You back again Oliver?"

A few months ago I said I wanted to give something back to the ward that has given me so much and I wanted it to be something people would never believe I could do. I finally suggested this event and starting training every Sunday. When I broke up from school for summer I REALLY started to push it and I am now almost ready for what is going to be something I will never forget.

The money that I raise I would like to donate ENTIRELY to ward L42 for things I feel when I have been there I missed (I was admitted not too long ago).

These are:

Plenty of portable DVD players and DVD's for people who are bed bound.

Refurbish the playroom so when adults are in there they have a seat that is their size.

Some new board games as majority of the games have pieces missing.

If I raise enough replace the portable TV's or/and buy more.

And if there is anything left over I am happy for the ward to do whatever they want with it.

I know this list is very long and I don't expect to be able to do everything... but please donate genarously as this really is a great cause.

ANY donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much if you sponsor me and I will keep this page updated so you can see how I'm doing with training and how I do on the day.

Thanks again!

Oliver.
