Story
My name is Olivia, I am 15 years old and I am fundraising for an amazing charity called PASIC. Myself and a team will be walking 96 miles along the West Highland Way, an illustrious walk through the beautiful Scottish country, the route starts at Milngavie and finishes at Gordon Square in Fort William. WE aim to raise as much money as possible to support PASIC.
PASIC is a Nottinghamshire based charity which deals with financial,
practical and social support for children/young people who have been
diagnosed or being treated for cancer. They support all aspects, from
helping families afford treatment to the mental wellbeing of young
people.
For example £100... will help towards a families travel costs to
hospitals for treatments.
PASIC help children like Darcey;
Darcey was only two years old when she was rushed to A&E with a fever, the next morning she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Within 12 hours, she was beginning her first session of chemotherapy. Darcey was a smiley, happy child that began to refuse to speak to doctors, having lost her trust in adults. PASIC helped Darcey regain her trust in adults, and helped her family through her personality change as the steroids took their toll. Her twin brother became affected by separation anxiety and PASIC helped him see the hospitals play therapist, to help alleviate the problem. Which is why, as a team we believe supporting PASIC will be beneficial to multiple children and their families affected by a terrible illness.
hope to fundraise as much as possible to support this worthy charity.
