We are the only UK lung cancer charity dedicated to helping everyone affected by the disease. We fund essential research and provide much needed support, information and advice. We raise awareness and challenge the misconceptions of lung cancer. We do all this so those affected can expect better.

Story

Every now and then, I do stupid things. On this occasion, I decided it would be a fabulous idea to run a marathon!

I've done 3 half marathons over the last 6 years, every couple of years feeling that it's time to put myself through pain. Knowing the feeling at the end of each one wasn't quite enough, I thought I'd strap on a pair (of trainers, obviously...) and do the full 26 miles/42 km!

To help push me through, I'll be doing this to raise money for a small and fairly unknown charity who are doing great things and help prevent many going through the pain I felt in losing my father 6 years ago (which yes, may have prompted me to get in shape!). As ever, whatever you can contribute is welcome and will help spur me on.

I've done 1hr31m27s for my best half - I'm aiming for under 4 hours as a minimum and ideally sub 3hrs45 (beating my brother is an added incentive!). I'd better start training...
