Fundraising for Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care
Story
Omega has risen to the challenges presented by Covid-19 and has mushroomed to accommodate more clients feeling the devastating effects of social isolation and loneliness.
I am fundraising for Omega to help meet the increase in costs that comes with expanding their reach.
Omega runs two very special befriending services: Chatterbox and A Letter from Louise.
Chatterbox Action Against Loneliness Programme
Omega’s multi-award-winning telephone befriending service has a team of volunteers who make weekly half hour phone calls to lonely and socially isolated caregivers, former caregivers, the bereaved, and those living with a life-limiting illness or who are near end of life. The programme particularly aims to support those aged over 75.
A Letter from Louise
Omega’s pen pal befriending service for anyone who feels lonely and isolated and would benefit from a regular friendly letter in the post, and who would like to share their own stories in return (we know not everyone can write back so replies are optional).
To take part in the cake raffle you will need to buy tickets through JustGiving. Each ticket costs £2. Upon receipt of your £2 we will allocate a draw number to you (you can enter as many times as you like). Any money not totaling a denomination of £2 will be considered a donation.
The draw will take place live on our Facebook page at 10am on Friday 30th October. Delivery will be made later that day within SY1, SY2 and SY3 postcodes. If you live outside of this area you will need to arrange collection for the same day.
The cake prize will be similar to the cakes in the cover photo which I made myself last year. They will be presented in a white cake box tied with ribbon for decoration.
When making your payment please clearly mark your name so a draw number can be allocated to you. Or, you can leave a reference code and email you contact details to me at community@omega.uk.net if you prefer to remain anonymous on the JustGiving page.
Any money which cannot be identified will be treated as a donation.
