Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am running the London marathon this year - it will be my last and where better to run your final marathon than amazing London!  21 miles training run done, and so far so good my old lady joints have held up.  So I am hopeful that London 2014 will be a good one!

I am raising money for the Oesophogeal Cancer Patients Association (OPA), a charity which means a lot to me.  The OPA helps people who have oesophageal/gastric cancer and their carers and family, by giving support to help them to achieve a good quality of life, through supportive literature, a telephone help line, on-line help and patient support meetings around the UK.

Oesophagogastric cancer affects thousands of people in the UK every year. The disease itself and its treatment can have deleterious effects on the quality of life of patients.  The support provided by the OPA is invaluable, and the work they do is dependent on funding.  Any sponsorship you can pledge would be greatly appreciated to allow the OPA to continue to support those affected by Oesophagogastric cancer, and continue their work in raising public awareness of the signs and symptoms to improve earlier diagnosis.

Thank you,

Orla
