My name is Oscar Bourdillon and I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on the 8th of October 2023 for Headway East London. Headway East London is a local charity supporting people affected by brain injury. Working across 13 London boroughs, last year it supported over 700 people. There are many different causes of brain injury and its effects are wide-ranging and complex. One of my oldest friend's dad recently had a head injury, so this is a charity close to my heart. I have been so shocked by the effects that a head injury can have on a person and the people around them, and I have realised how charities like Headway can make such a big difference in supporting people affected by brain injury to lead healthy, social & fulfilling lives.
