Hi All,

First of all I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this post. My name is Otto Firnhaber, I was born in Venezuela and I have been living in the UK for over 14 years.  For those who don’t know

me, one of my passions is running, for the last 6 years I have ran 6 full
Marathons (26.2 miles) and 7 Half Marathons (13.1 miles). This year I have taken on a new challenge and personally for me this will be a really tough one. The name of the event is “Race to the Tower”, taking place on the 8^th
and 9^th of June, this will be a double marathon (52 miles) across 2
days through the heart of Cotswold.  For me personally this will be an incredible experience as this is my first time running a trial route, and between races I would be sleeping in a tent.

Beside the joy I have for running, I took the decision to run this event to also help and raised money for a charity called “Healing Venezuela UK”.  Their main aim is to send Medical Supplies to Hospitals and others None Governmental Organisations to Venezuela. They also help implement the Mental Health Programmes and sponsor high spec HIV and Cancer Labs in Venezuela. 

The levels and magnitude of the crisis in Venezuela are not only affecting the lower classes, they are also affecting the middle classes and also the upper classes.  I think I am not saying anything new, as this has been going on now for years. This is all over the news, if this is something new for you, I would recommend you Google “Crisis in Venezuela”.  My friends and family are suffering directly and indirectly with this crisis. 

This is the first time I am raising money for a humanitarian cause, I have decided to do this because of the bad and delicate crisis that is affecting my country.  I am determined to raise funds and help the hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans that are being affected by this crisis.  In the last century my country has not experienced such devastation.

As part of my training, I have decided to run a Half Marathon which will be taking part on the 25^th of May in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Hola a todos 

Antes que nada agradezco
de ustedes el tomar parte de su valioso tiempo para leer este Post. Soy OttoEduardo Firnhaber Burgos, Venezolano de nacimiento pero con más de 14 años de vida en el Reino Unido. Para los que no me conocen una de mis pasiones la cualpráctico incansablemente es el correr, en los últimos 6 años de experiencia he participado y culminado 6 Maratones ( 42 km) y 7 Media Maratón ( 21 km). Este año he asumido un nuevo reto y en lo personal será una gran prueba que estoy completamente seguro culminare. Participare en el evento denominado " Race To The Tower" el cual se realizará el 8 y 9 de junio. Este Maratón es diferente y con un extra para los que corremos este tipo de carreras; por que haremos 2 carreras consecutivas en dos días continuos, es decir 84 km en total, en lo personal será una experiencia única ya que todo el trayecto se desarrollará en campo abierto y entre una carrera y otra, es decir en la noche acamparemos en tiendas de campaña en el mismo campo. A parte de mi amor por este deporte, tome la decisión de hacer esta carrera para ayudar a recaudar fondos para la asociación civil sin fines de lucro " Healing Venezuela UK", una Fundación que tiene como principal objetó enviar a mi país Venezuela suplementos médicos a los Hospitales y otras organizaciones No Gubernamentales que en estos momentos de crisis humanitaria vive mi país y quienes en el viven. Los niveles y magnitud de la crisis que viven los venezolanos ya no sólo está referida a los venezolanos más humildes o de menores recursos, ya la crisis abarca desde los sectores medios y profesionales hasta las clases más pudientes. Creo que no digo nada nuevo o que cualquiera de ustedes que haya leído sobre Venezuela pueda saber, es público y notorio que familiares y amigos directos sufren por todos sus efectos.

Está sería la primera vez que estoy recaudando fondos para una causa humanitaria, pero en vista de la grave y delicada crisis que vive mi país de origen he decidido colocar mi aporte para recaudar ayuda a los miles y miles de Venezolanos que se ven afectados por esta crisis humanitaria que nunca en la historia contemporánea habíamos vivido. 

Como parte de mi entrenamiento, he decidido también correr una Media Maratón el cual se realizara el 6 de Mayo en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, Argentina.
