Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

We are three co-workers at Oxbury & Company who have foolishly volunteered to take part in the Norwich Triathlon Business Relay event on July 1st 2012.  Unlike a normal triathlon the relay event allows three people to take part, one for each part.

Steph Pain is undertaking the 1,500m open water swim across Whitlingham Broad, followed by Matt Gotts cycling 39k around parts of south Norfolk.  The event is completed for the team by Mark Watts who will be running 11k around Whitlingham Broad.  Mark runs regularly so this should be a walk in the park (!) and Steph runs and is getting some swims under her belt.  Matt, on the other hand, hasn't ridden a bike seriously in well over a decade and has spent the evenings and weekends since March 2012 desperately trying to get up to race distance before July 1st!!!

We chose Parkinsons UK as two of us have been affected by Parkinsons Disease in a close relative.  Matthew is doing the 39km cycle (see his blog) as his father is living with Parkinsons and Matthew wanted to give something back to the charity that has helped his parents.  Steph, bravely doing the open water swim, has also been affected by the disease in a family member and we agreed as a team to make Parkinsons UK our chosen charity.
