Story
I will be running the New York Marathon on the 4th of November. I have always wanted to run it but 8 years ago I was diagnosed with EIA. It's going to be a very risky and life threatening challenge for me but as I have turned fortylycious this year, I have decided I am ready to tick the box. I know that some of my dearest family and friends think I am mad and I shouldn't be doing this.
I'm running also in memory of my mum who I miss terribly but I know she will be watching and encouraging me all the way.
Whilst I am completely funding this trip by myself, I decided to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Charity which means that all Funds raised will be going to them.
The reason I have chosen this charity is because in recent years we were affected by this awful disease within my dearest and closest family members.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
It is very close to my heart that having been involved with this horrible illness, learning so much about cancer itself, the symptoms, the different type of treatments and the long recovery made my decision to support this charity.
I am now half way through my training programme which has proved to be very challenging. I am physically and emotionally drained.
I hope to raise as much money as possible for this charity to help finding a cure.
Please note again that all the entry costs, flights to NYC and hotel accommodation have been paid by myself. No donation money will go towards covering my costs.
Please can I ask you to leave your name with your donations so that I can personally thank you.
I am ready so let's do this.
Much love,
Patricia
