Story

On Sunday 20th September I will be cycling from Salford to Blackpool (that's about 70 miles including the ride from home) to raise funds for the Manchester and Salford branch of the RSPCA.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a massive impact, during lockdown all of the branch's shops had to be closed severely impacting the branch’s income.

At the same time the rehoming centre in Salford where I have been volunteering for the past year, continued to operate to capacity, innovating in many ways to ensure that as many rescued cats, rabbits and other furries could be cared for and rehomed in spite of the restrictions.

You can read about some of the great work done and the challenges faced at the centre on the branch’s blogs
http://www.manchesterandsalfordrspca.org.uk/index.php/blogs/

and if you're interested in learning more about adopting an animal you'll also see a link to the adoption pages.

So please sponsor me, every penny will be put to good use - and if you're a UK taxpayer please don't forget to add GiftAid, it costs you nothing more but adds to the amount received by the charity.

Thank you!

ps - you'll be able to see how I get on, I'll post a link to my Strava page after the ride

About the charity

Founded solely for the care of animals in Manchester and Salford, we must fundraise for 100% of our costs as a charity to survive. Every penny donated to the charity keeps our animal centre in Salford open 365 days a year - so that our doors can always be open for every small animal who needs us.
