Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Peter Johnson (78) from Whaley Bridge, and Graham Sydney (75) from Glossop, known to their friends as Pete and Jim, are doing a coast to coast cycling challenge starting on 3rd. September for 4 days, the 'Way of the Roses' which is 170 miles from Morecambe to Bridlington through the Lune Valley, Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale and the Yorkshire Wolds.

We wanted to raise money for a local charity, and as the High Peak Mayor, Paul Hardy and his wife Mary are regular walkers with our walking group, we decided on the High Peak Mayor's Charity, in particular the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team. They do a great job keeping everyone, including cyclists and walkers, safe in the Glossop and High Peak area.

Pete and Jim were planning to do a coast to coast ride 2 years ago, but Covid put those plans on hold. Then, just over a year ago, both were in hospital with quite serious health issues. So they hope you will appreciate that they will be doing the ride on power-assist bikes, but it will still be quite a challenge. Please give generously, it will be greatly appreciated.
