VE DAY at 70 · 26 April 2015

The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. Last year we assisted more than 70,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2025 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

Thank you for assisting the Royal Air Force benevolent fund, many of us know the sound of a Spitfire or Lancaster flying overhead, possibly at air shows or events through out the UK. But think of the pilots of those aircraft, the air crew, the ground crew, the station staff and mechanics which kept those planes in the air. Even today all aircraft flown by the RAF still need the teams to keep them in the air, but accidents do happen and hard times do befall former RAF personel, so the benevolent fund helps all serving and former members of the RAF who need help in any way.

We will be commemorating the 70th anniversary of VE Day, in 2015. So our team of serving and retired members of the RAF will be riding 8 motorcycles through the UK and Europe to remember past members and current members of the RAF, visiting special sites associated with the history of the RAF since it's conception in 1918.
