Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

at my 20 week gender scan I was told that my daughters heart had a abnormality and was referred to Birmingham children's hospital to find out exactly what...

Me and Mark were told that Ariyah had truncus artoriosis with a interrupted aortic arch. Which a condition like this only happens to 1 in 50,000 woman. We were that 1. Birmingham consultants said we should look at terminating our pregnancy and have a still birth.  Because ariyahs chances wasn't great in her first year and she would need major heart surgery all her life. THIS WAS NOT A OPTION FOR US, the possibility of Ariyah having downs, and many other illness's but we was going to give her every chance we could. Every 2 weeks we were having scans and making sure our princess was doing okay, we wasn't suppose to make it past 32weeks gone, we made it to 39 + 3 days and my waters broke.

29th September  2016 at 4.22am my beautiful daughter came in the world after 20 hours of labour Ariyah Skye O'Hagan weighing 6.5ilbs. We was transferred from Coventry hospital to Birmingham special care, and at 4 days after being in special care Ariyah was rushed to intensive care because her heart wasn't doing what it should. Day 5 Ariyah was booked for a open heart surgery where the possibility of her not coming back was higher then her returning.. 8 hours in surgery ariyah returned , it went as well as they wanted it too. 5 hours after heart surgery,  ariyahs heart was leaking so they did a emergency release of fluid on the ward (mini op) and stablerlised her again. But then at 7am on the 04.10.16 they needed to get Ariyah onto a life support machine, 7.22am they pronounced our daughter dead, her heart was too small to fit onto the machine and she went into cardiac arrest.

My daughter for 6 days showed great strength and inspired me to give something back. I just want to help.
