Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. YAY I am now out of treatment, the hair is growing and I am in remission, loving life and counting my blessings every day.

Update:  I will never forget 5pm Friday 13th September 2013 - it was the day I was told it was my time to battle breast cancer.  I coped with the diagnosis, the prognosis was good BUT I did not cope at having to tell my sons, my family and my friends it is the hardest most difficult thing I have ever had to do, the look of shock and sadness on their faces will stay with me forever.   Therefore this September 13th, I want to create happier memories and celebrate my SURVIVOR DAY...  I am so aware cancer does not play a fair game but I am in remission, I am here, enjoying life and feeling totally blessed and so  much to be grateful for.

SELFIES: Thank you to everyone who take part in the "selfies" and donated to the trust and my page - it was totally amazing and even I braved the Selfie craze!  I felt brave as I was photographed with no hair, eyebrows, lashes and no boobs!!

Whilst I am away from my work as Trust Manager for the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust, I am facing my own personal battle against breast cancer.  During my fight I want to try and support those young people, who like me, are in the battle against cancer. Because,  if those young cancer patients are feeling just as scared and uncertain of the future and of the unknown as I am feeling right now - I want to stand in tribute to their determination and I am inspired by them to do all I can during my fight and I ask you to join me to make a difference.

So Christmas is coming and an appeal I was working on, when diagnosed, was to ensure that nearly 500 young people, who will spend their Christmas day in a hospital bed, will receive an extra special gift this year - I want to try and ensure they receive a wonderful gift from the trust and with the support from you some extra surprises.

Your kind and generous donations of: £1 would support the appeal;     £2 would buy a selection box;    £5 would buy stationery items; £10 would buy a gift;    £5 would buy vouchers;    £20 would support the appeal and sending extra resources to the hospitals during the year to help brighten the days of these young people who are spending long periods of time in hospital, far from home and undergoing harsh and invasive treatments for their cancer.

So please, I am fighting and giving it my all!  but please will you  "take a moment" watch the video, see the reasons why these young people need your help and together we can give cancer the elbow!
