Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This Thursday (24th August) I'm going to be strapped to the upper wing of a plane at an airfield near Cirencester and 'Wing Walk' which is the greatest contradiction in terms I've every heard as I will be standing very still and hanging on for dear life!

I'm doing this for two reason - well three actually:

1. I see all the time in my day job the challenges people face every day because of the hand life has dealt them.  I am proud that the charity I lead changes lives for the better but we can always do more and to do that we always need money.

2. A lot of our income comes from the generous payroll giving donations from Zurich employees but it's dropped off of late - so I wanted to do something 'unusual' to raise the profile of payroll giving or 'Give As You Earn' as the scheme we run is known.  So if you work for Zurich please don't sponsor me here but wait for my email and support me with a £2 a month Give As You Earn Donation - you won't pay the tax on your donation as it comes off gross salary and, through the business donation we receive from Zurich each year, we will will also100% match everything you give - thank you.

3. I've never been particularly sporty, hate running, don't cycle very well - could probably walk a long way but that doesn't have the same ring to it as Wing Walking does it?  Although I'll be perfecting my run (away from the plane) on Thursday!
