We are doing this 5k because in 2010 Pam's Mother-in-Law Doreen was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma which is cancer of the bile duct, a particularly rare and nasty disease. Doreen passed away on the 4th Feb 2011 which has devastated our whole family. We all loved her greatly and miss her every day. Nothing will make us feel better but hopefully the money we raise may help someone down the line not have to feel this way.

A lot of Pam’s other family member are also doing things for AMMF so please don’t feel you have to give everyone – we’re not trying to bankrupt you all. ;-)

Cholangiocarcinoma is considered a rare cancer and very little research has previously been undertaken into this disease.  In the UK alone, more than 1500 people are diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma each year, where it is responsible for more deaths per annum than cervical cancer.

AMMF is the only registered charity in the UK working to raise funds for research into cholangiocarcinom.
