Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We're running the 2017 Paris Marathon in memory of my mum, Paula. My mum was a devoted teacher for 27 years at St.Mary's Primary School where she was the life and soul of the school, dedicating her life to caring, loving and encouraging children.
My mum was incredibly generous, kind, and ambitious, not only for herself but for her children at school and for my brother and I - without her I wouldn't be where I am now. Most of all, my mum was always about giving more than she got out of something, and that’s why we'd like to give back in memory of her.
Pancreatic Cancer is in desperate need of funding and research.
- Forty years ago only 46% of women diagnosed with breast cancer survived 5 years or more, now that figure is 80%.
- Forty years ago only 3% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survived 5 years or more, that figure is STILL just 3%.
Around 95% of people diagnosed die from it, unfortunately my mum was diagnosed too late and was one of the 95% - this is what we want to change and hopefully with donations, one day it will.
We've swapped partying in the dark for running in the dark, buying vital accessories like earrings and bags for actual running socks (who knew you even needed those?), running away from the rain to running IN the rain and constantly talking about TV/The Kardashians to constantly talking about.....yep, running.
Thanks for reading, with your help we can donate to a worthy cause in memory of an amazing woman.
