Event: Marathon des Sables 2017, on 8 April 2017
We provide valuable support to veterans to empower and guide them on their journey.

Story

Walking With The Wounded has been able to support hundreds of wounded ex-Servicemen and women, disadvantaged by mental or physical injury.  WWTW finance new qualifications, education and training programmes for those who are injured, to help with their career transition. This enables the blind, the burn victims, the mentally injured, the amputees and all the other wounded to rebuild their lives and to return to the work place.

The MdS involves the equivalent of six marathons in six days, including a double marathon on day four 'the long day', carrying all your necessary equipment including bedding, medical kit and food.  The event takes place in the Western Sahara with temperatures on many days in excess of 40 degrees.

About the charity

In a world filled with challenges, our veterans deserve unwavering support and we’re here to provide mental health, employment and care coordination programmes to help them get back on their feet. Join us in shaping a future where veterans thrive and families flourish.
