Dear all, as you know Pat is retiring on 30 September and is raising funds for LINC (Leukemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund) which is based at Cheltenham General Hospital.

The reason why she has chosen the LINC charity is that it is based in Cheltenham and she would like to give any money raised, for her leaving collection and at her fundraiser on 30 September, to be spent in the town for the benefit of people in the town. Also, last year, Mark Sheldon, one of the council's directors redesigned the new LINC Sanctuary Garden in Sandford Park here in Cheltenham and the garden planting was undertaken by volunteers, some of whom are CBC staff, using money raised by public donations, grants & the lottery.

The garden is a place for the public, staff & patients to enjoy and for some it is quite literally a place of sanctuary; a place to go during what can be for some the worst of times. The work that LINC does is very important to Pat personally because some of her closest colleagues have benefitted from its work and it would be wonderful as she retires for her to give something back to a charity that does so much good for so many people. Any money raised will be used to help fund the planting of allium bulbs in the spring or go towards the cost of a sculpture for the garden.
