Father's Day 50k

Patrick de Mars is raising money for Hampshire Hospitals Charity
In memory of Simon De Mars
We raise funds to make a difference to patients, staff and volunteers at HHFT

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am fundraising for ITU Research and Equipment Fund Number 4160

On 18th June 2023 (Father's Day) I will be running 50km across the South Downs, raising money for North Hampshire Hospital ICU in Basingstoke. Dr Ben Harris and his team at the ICU were absolutely incredible in caring for my dad Simon, who passed away there in December 2019.

Along with my mum, who is raising money by walking the Thames Path, we are hoping to contribute significantly to purchasing a Trans-Oesophageal Echo Probe (TOE). This would allow the team to assess the severity of shock states in critically unwell patients. The TOE probe costs £20,000 and cannot be purchased without charitable support.

I'll be doing the 50km Castle Trail section of the Race to the King - not something Dad would have been up for doing himself it must be said. However, it's a beautiful part of the country, somewhere Dad was very fond of, and he would certainly have loved to be there in support. Please do donate whatever you can!
