In December 2011 I have received the best Christmas present of all times! A letter from the Charity Project Trust, from the Isle of Coll where I have spent 5 days on a selection course for a Gap Year.

And guess what? I will be teaching English in Chile as a volunteer for whole 12 months! During my time overseas I will get an opportunity to live with a host family and learn about a completely different society and culture, visit new places and meet new people. By the end of the year I am hoping to be fluent in Spanish and be able to hold a basic conversation in Mapudungun.

Even though this might sound like a lot of fun, I am not going all the way to South America for a holiday! This will be a life changing experience. I will be teaching English to children who are not as fortunate as I am. Allowing them to learn English will give them a better chance in their future life to get into Higher education and even get a job!

This will not only be an amazing, life changing experience for me but also an opportunity for the Chilean children to improve their English skills and have a brighter future!

To go on this amazing journey I have to raise £5,100 – and every penny counts!
