Trans Pennine Challenge 100K · 22 June 2013 to 23 June 2013 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My beautiful husband Keith, lost his long and very painful battle with pancreatic cancer on 3rd September 2012. I am attempting to walk the 100k in his memory, whilst hopefully raising funds and awareness for and about this awful disease.( He would find this very funny but would still be behind me all the way... From the comfort of his car!).
I don't have the words to say how much I love and miss him or how much losing him has left me at a loss as to how to go forward without him by my side(words really are a poor substitute for feelings of overwhelming despair and love in equal measure...) but I hope by taking on this challenge, I will be inspired by the determination, dignity and positivity he showed not just during his illness, but throughout our life together ...
So, together with Linda, Roz, Paula, Kirsty and now Ursula, we have formed 'Big breaths, small steps!' and as a team we hope to walk through the day, night and probably some of the next day to complete this endurance event! Sleep deprived and no doubt very blistered, please come and support any way at all, but seeing any of you at the finish would be a very welcome sight for us all!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please, dig deep, every little bit really will help me to reach my target, but more importantly, may just help someone survive that little bit longer....
thank you
Patti xx
