Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

All that hard work of training was worth it. On Sunday I ran my first (and last) Marathon at the Bournemouth Running Festival. It was bloody hard work but I have the medal to prove it! The legs are knackered but I'm still reflecting in the warm afterglow. Great course, great organisation, and some great characters running especially amongst us tail Enders. But it's done and thank you everyone for supporting me and my great cause. Take a bow everyone. Same time next year ? NO WAY

If you want regular Running Reports then please follow me on my FaceBook page. Befriend me and you'll get the update - they're available to the whole world and his mother so even if you're not a friend you can see them - you'll just have to remember to look. Here's where to find me on FaceBook:

I'm still smiling and I have all my training run days firmly in all my diaries. I'll even be running on my holidays in July and September. Watch this space as we get these legs of mine strong as oak trees and my lungs in full working order.

Update 29th March: hooray I've just completed the Forest of Dean half marathon this morning. It's a toughie with plenty of hills and uneven tracks but what a sense of achievement. Not too shoddy a time given the fact that my back packed up on me at mile 9 after stumbling. Bugger, I missed out on the bacon rolls at the end! Never mind, hopefully people will be inspired to run and support our cause BHF. Another challenge completed for BHF.

Update: first event (Stroud half) successfully completed (October 2014). This morning I completed the second event The Michinhampton 10k. What a lovely well organised event. My objective was to complete it as I was carrying a slight niggle with my right leg. Well as you will see from the photo I finished in fine form. Some observers even commented that I finished strongly - I always try and leave something for my sprint finish (joke). Anyway job done.

In 2 weeks time I move on to the next challenge - The Forest of Dean half marathon. That will require a bit more training. Can't wait.

If you're feeling generous please open up your wallets and purses and donate - see below.

See the picture just to prove I did it. I'm proud of everyone.

My dad died of a heart attack when he was just 62. After a series of investigations it was discovered that I have some heart issues that fortunately can be managed. You can say that the British Heart Foundation is close to my heart. I've been lucky and I want more people to be "lucky". Help me to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Every pound we raise will encourage me to stay the distance - just over 26 miles! - help others. Please dig deep just like I'm going to be doing.

I've decided to add some more events that you can support BHF via your donations.

This Sunday 26th October I will be running the Stroud Half Marathon for BHF

Next April I will be running the Forest Of Dean Half  Marathon for BHF and finally as another warm up for the big one I plan to run the Standish 10 a real killer of a forest challenge in August.

So I don't feel guilty about asking you to take the plunge and start donating NOW. I'll post photos of me after the Stroud Half over this weekend (26th October)

Then on 4th October 2015 I will run my first and last Marathon - The Bournemouth Marathon - on behalf of the BHF.

All the money raised over these 4 events will be going for a great cause British Heart Foundation.

THANK YOU
